Liverpool's former UNESCO listing
UNESCO removed Liverpool – Maritime Mercantile City from the World Heritage List on 21 July 2021; it does not currently hold World Heritage status. The former listing recognised the historic centre and docklands for their maritime trade history and port development.
VisitLiverpool’s attractions directory covers themes including museums and galleries, Beatles-related places, parks and beaches, maritime history, and tours. Its downloadable city-region visitor guide is another planning starting point. Check each venue’s own visitor page for current opening, access, admission, booking and closure information.
VisitLiverpool’s What’s On page lists current events across Liverpool City Region. Dates, locations, ticket availability and access arrangements can change, so confirm the latest details with the event organiser before travelling or booking.
VisitLiverpool identifies Liverpool Lime Street as the city’s main gateway for national rail arrivals. Check National Rail for station and service information, and use Merseytravel and the relevant operator for current local routes, timetables, disruptions and accessibility arrangements.
VisitLiverpool’s accommodation listings include hotels, apartments, B&Bs and accessible accommodation. Compare locations and listed facilities with your plans, then confirm availability, rates, access details, check-in arrangements and booking terms with each provider. For attractions and events, check the venue or organiser for current opening and service details.
