Identify the item
- Write down the item name and any make, model, size or age you know.
- Check labels, measurements or compatibility details that may help someone assess it.
- Say whether manuals, packaging or accessories are included.
Check its condition
Describe what you can see or have checked; do not guess about faults you cannot assess.
- Look for marks, scratches, stains, wear, damage or repairs.
- Check that the item is clean and note anything that still needs attention.
- For a working item, describe what you have tested and when.
- List missing parts or anything that does not work as expected.
Make the listing easy to understand
- Photograph the whole item and any marks or wear in clear light.
- Include a photo of labels or model details when useful, while hiding personal information.
- State exactly what is included and any limits on collection or handover.
- Review the description so it matches the item someone will receive.
